Our Services

CBT is a collection of evidence-based therapies that address the ways in which our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. There are a number of highly effective treatments that address common difficulties including anxiety, depression, and behavioral difficulties. We are trained to use a CBT framework to build effective treatment plans to meet your needs and are also trained in a wide array of specific CBT interventions to address different needs. Some of the difficulties we treat using CBT include:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

  • Panic Attack

  • Specific Phobias

  • School Avoidance

  • ADHD

  • Childhood Behavioral Difficulties

  • Eating Disorders

DBT is a gold standard treatment for treating disorders of emotion dysregulation. Since its inception, DBT has been proven to be effective for people struggling with issues including mood disorders, borderline personality disorder, self injury, suicidality, impulsivity, binge eating disorder, aggressive and disruptive behaviors, substance use. In DBT, we work to identify specific treatment targets, and teach skills in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness to help individuals work toward their goals. We offer comprehensive, adherent DBT, including individual therapy, group skills training, and phone coaching for children, adolescents, and adults. Our clinicians also participate on a weekly DBT consultation team, allowing us to use a collaborative approach to support our clients and remain adherent to the treatment model. All of our clinicians are intensively trained by Behavioral Tech and committed to ongoing education and training in this treatment.

Prolonged Exposure Therapy

Prolonged exposure (PE) is a highly effective treatment for PTSD and related anger, depression, avoidance, and relationship difficulties. It is based in behavioral principles, and teaches individuals to gradually approach trauma cues in a safe environment. DBT-PE is an adaptation of the standard prolonged exposure therapy protocol which allows multi-stressed clients to access PTSD treatment and continue building their lives worth living. Clinicians at NJCCDBT have been intensively trained in DBT-PE, and are committed to ongoing education and supervision in the treatment modality.

Cognitive Processing Therapy

Cognitive processing therapy (CPT) is also a highly effective, evidence-based treatment for PTSD. It is based in a cognitive therapy model that allows clients to identify, evaluate, and modify unhelpful thinking patterns and beliefs that maintain PTSD symptoms. It is a short-term therapy model that allows the opportunity to develop tools and strategies to manage difficulties both during and following the therapy process. Our team has been trained in this treatment modality and remains committed to continued education and development in the treatment of trauma.
